Biographical Information
Dr. Shui-Qing (Fisher) Yu received his B.S. and M.S. in Electronics from Peking University in 1997 and 2000, respectively, and his Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University (ASU) in 2005. He spent one year as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in ASU MBE Optoelectronic Group and then joined the Center for Nanophotonics of Arizona Institute of Nano-Electronics in ASU as an Assistant Research Professor. Dr. Yu joined the Electrical Engineering department as an assistant professor in fall 2008. His areas of research interest are semiconductor optoelectronic device fabrication and characterization, applied nano & biophotonics, and nanopackaging. Dr. Yu has published 16 articles in refereed journals and 57 articles/abstracts in conference proceedings in the areas of semiconductor optoelectronic device modeling, fabrication and characterization. He has also given/contributed 61 presentations and 14 invited talks at conferences and workshops regarding his research activities. Dr. Yu won the Palais Outstanding Doctoral Student Award in 2005 from the ASU Electrical Engineering Department, selected out of 41 Ph.D students that graduated in 2005, and teh IEEE Phoenix Chapter / Society award in 2008 for technical contributions. He is a member of the International Society for Optical Engineering and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
