Biographical Information
Dr. Yoon received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics from the Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, in 1992 and 1994, respectively. From 1994 to 2000, he worked with Hyundai Electronics Inc., where he was involved in the development of radio frequency integrated circuits (RFIC) and CMOS image sensors. He received his Ph. D. degree in Engineering Science from Pennsylvania State University in 2003. After working as a post-doc at the Center for the Engineering of Electronic and Acoustic Materials and Devices in Pennsylvania State University, he joined the High Density Electronics Center (HiDEC) / Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Arkansas in 2005. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department.
Dr. Yoon has developed various sensors, actuators, and milimeter-wave devices using silicon ICs, RF-MEMS technology, and tunable ceramic materials for MMICs mobile communication which can be integrated with CMOS integrated circuits. He is also developing wireless sensors for the sensing and control of DNA, glucose, and Parkinson’s disease using vertically-aligned nanowires and electromagnetic wave reflection of sensing loads.
